Of the eight large colleges in Ontarios 24-College system, Algonquin continues to lead the way in the key areas of student satisfaction, graduate satisfaction and graduate employment rate in the province-wide accountability surveys known collectively as the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These results indicate that Algonquin College is steering the right course in its efforts to offer quality education and training to its students, said Robert Gillett, President of Algonquin College. Large colleges face a unique set of challenges in achieving student satisfaction. Algonquin emphasizes student success, and through this survey our students are telling us that we are happy with the education and support services they receive. In addition, 92% of employers of Algonquin College graduates indicated that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with the graduate's overall college preparation for the type of work they were doing. This years survey showed that more than 80% of Algonquin Colleges students were satisfied or very satisfied with the Colleges facilities, services, program quality, and the relevance of their program to their career, placing Algonquin College four percentage points above the provincial average. llege The 2010 KPI results reflect the hard work and dedication of Algonquin Cofaculty and staff in ensuring that we deliver quality education and service to our students, adds Gillett. We will continue to work to improve our offerings to enhance student success. These survey results underscore the fact that the College is doing a good job of preparing students for todays workforce. Overall, the system-wide results paint a positive image of Ontario colleges and their performance. The provincial government uses the KPI Student Satisfaction results to determine the funding for a small portion of each colleges annual operating budget. Results from the graduate employment, graduate satisfaction and employer satisfaction surveys are used as the basis for performance funding from the government.
